Teen shot to death in Chester identified

Ronald Lundy's family say the 15-year-old was not involved in a street violence and doubt he was the shooter's intended target. He is Chester's 23rd homicide victim this year.

The 15-year-old boy shot and killed in a drive-by shooting Monday in Chester has been identified. Ronald Lundy was the boy found face down on a walkway with two bullet wounds in his chest, according to his family.

The teen and two other youths were attacked while on the 1300 block of West Seventh Street about 3 p.m.

Lundy's family said he had been walking home from Chester High School when he was shot.

His companions, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, were also wounded. Both were treated at Crozer Chester Medical Center.

Lundy's family said he was not involved in street violence and they do not believe the shooter intended to hit Lundy.

Authorities recovered and impounded a vehicle, police said, but had no additional information on the investigation as of Tuesday evening. The teen was the city's 23rd homicide victim this year.
