A Westville man was arrested in his car on I-295 on Friday and charged with four bank robberies since April 28, Evesham Township police said.
West Deptford police arrested Stephen M. Blanda Jr., 27, after an attempted holdup at 7:05 p.m. at the Commerce Bank at 336 Route 70 in Evesham, police said.
A man had driven up to a teller location and placed a holdup note on the window while displaying what appeared to be a weapon, Evesham Detective Sgt. David Covely said. When the man drove away, Covely said, he was followed by someone who reported his license-plate number to police.
Blanda was charged with robbing a Commerce Bank in Cherry Hill on April 28 and May 2 and the Evesham branch May 9 as well as Friday, Covely said. He was being held in the Burlington County jail after failing to post $200,000 bail.
