Pictures from preview of the Parkway's new Calder Gardens
The ribbon is cut on Calder Gardens, a new cultural destination dedicated to the art of Alexander Calder, the great American sculptor born in Philadelphia in 1898.

The latest art institution to be built on the parkway, the 1.8-acre site features a rotating collection of Calder’s artworks in an underground gallery. Calder Gardens was designed by the Swiss architecture firm of Herzog & de Meuron, with landscape design by Dutch landscape architect Piet Oudolf. It will open to the public on September 21, 2025.
