3,000 Philly residents are at risk of their losing affordable housing. Can City Hall help?

The federal affordability requirements for hundreds of rental homes in West and Southwest Philly are starting to expire. Their owner, Jim Levin of Neighborhood Restorations, wants to sell. Levin has said he wants to keep the homes affordable, but he needs assurance that the city plans to work with him and help get a buyer. After over a year of public pressure from tenants and organizers, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker has committed to doing so. How exactly remains to be seen.
