The death of a 25-year-old Camden woman whose body was found in her home Monday has been ruled a homicide, authorities said Tuesday night.

Tonia Yamileth was stabbed and beaten to death, the Camden County Medical Examiner has determined.

Around 8:45 a.m. Monday, police responded to a report of an unresponsive woman in a home on the 1000 block of South Sixth Street and found Yamileth’s body in an upstairs bedroom, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodrigues said in a news release.

Yamileth had a visible injury to her neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
