One man stabbed, another woman assaulted in Atlantic City resort over the weekend
One man stabbed, and another woman assaulted in Atlantic City's Showboat Resort over the weekend. Here's what we know.

A man was stabbed and a woman was assaulted at an Atlantic City resort over the weekend.
The Atlantic City Police Department responded to the Showboat Resort at 801 Boardwalk at 10:37 p.m. on Sunday, to find a 38-year-old woman, from Severn, Md., who was assaulted following a verbal altercation, police said.
The woman was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police later learned that another man was stabbed in relation to the assault but fled the area before police arrived. The 38-year-old man, of Newark, was stabbed and transported to the AlanticCare Medical Center by friends. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
No arrests have been made, and police have not disclosed led to the stabbing and assault. But, a representative from the Showboat said incidents like this are not regular at A.C. resorts.
“This is a very rare and isolated occurrence, which we are simply referring to the Atlantic City Police,“ a Showboat spokesperson said. ”The Showboat takes security extremely seriously.”
Sean Riggin, A.C.’s director of public safety, echoed Showboat reps and asked the public not to hesitate in calling in tips.
“Incidents like this are not the norm in our tourism and boardwalk areas. Atlantic City sees a high volume of visitors every day who enjoy a safe and uneventful visit. When something does happen, our officers and investigators, working alongside private security, respond quickly and work to stabilize the situation and identify those responsible,” Riggin said.
