Eagles Winning Turnover Battle, for Once

MIAMI --Updating, the Eagles got a fumble, off an Asante Samuel hit (yes, really), kicked a field goal, then lost a fumble on a silly throw across the field during a punt return, got the ball back on the next play when Dolphins QB Matt Moore fumbled, then drove for a touchdown and held on third and fourth-and-1.

So they have a 24-7 halftime lead, and Juan Castillo's defense looks downright dominant.

In his return from broken ribs, Michael Vick has had several passes batted down, and has been sacked four times, but he has completed 11 of 19 for 167 yards and a touchdown, and he hasn't turned the ball over.

amoore has been intercepted and lost that fumble. He also has been sacked four times.

LeSean McCoy has only 30 yards on 13 carries, but he has scored twice.

Reggie Bush has just 17 yards on five carries.

Earlier: The Eagles have screwed up just about every way possible in forging a 4-8 reciord, but until today, they hadn't gotten a punt blocked.

Mission accomplished!

Corner Jimmy Wilson came off the edge and sent Chas Henry's first effort of the day bouncing backward. The Dolphins got the ball in the Eagles' 15 and scored on a third and 13 play, Brandon Marshall eluding Nnamdi Asomugha in the back of the end zone.

Michael Vick was under siege for much of the first quarter, but the Birds got even early in the second quarter on a drive that started with a missed Dolphins 55-yard field goal. The Eagles drove 54 yards in six plays, the first 26 yads and the final 2 from LeSean McCoy, McCoy gaining his 16th touchdown of the season, two behind Steve Van Buren's franchise record.

McCoy got TD 17 a few minutes later, after Kurt Coleman returned a Matt Moore interception 35 yards to the Dolphins' 1.

Earlier: Wideout Jeremy Maclin and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, questionable coming into Sunday, both are active for today's encounter with the host Miami Dolphins, at rain-washed Sun Life Stadium.

Inactive are WR Steve Smith, CB Brandon Hughes, DE Brandon Graham, G Julian Vandervelde, OT Winston Justice, DE Juqua Parker and LB Greg Lloyd.

It's interesting that both Graham and Parker are inactive, which means DE Phillip Hunt is up.

Maclin coming back has pushed Smith off the active list, not that he did much when he was active.

Stay tuned for more.
