Reid talks Cowboys and the Giants
Here are comments from coach Andy Reid after the game:
Overall: I'm proud of our guys for hanging in there, like we did right there at the end. We got the football, we kept the football, and pounded it and played good physical football. This is a team win. I thought both lines set the tempo, good special teams and everybody followed that.
On the Giants situation: We're going to see a good Giants football team, whether they're playing on Monday night or Sunday. We know that.
On Todd Herremans: He's a good athlete. Michael made it easy for him. He's really like fourth in the progression. He's a late leak.
On the last drive: The guys were able to put one together. LeSean, I thought ran hard, explosive and the big o-line was coming off the ball. There's a point where you need to do that. We had to tight ends in the game. I thought they blocked well. To be able to sustain a drive and wrap it up is a beautiful thing.
On DeSean Jackson: I thought he played well. He had a couple of big plays in each half. He did a nice job.
On beating the Cowboys after their wins last season: These are the Dallas Cowboys. If you're good enough to win the game, it's a beautiful thing. I'm enjoying it because it's an NFC East victory. I'm going to enjoy it until we land and then we got to get ready for the Giants.
Jackson's long TD: The long one that he scored on that was him making a play. It was a hitch route … Michael hit him right on time, it was perfect timing. DeSean took care of the rest.
Changes on defense: I think the opportunity that we have to rotate guys in, I think that helps, particularly on the defensive line … we lost Bradley, we have a good guy come in and make some nice plays.
On the Vick hit: He was definitely going out of bounds. I'm not big on those things. I wasn't big on them when Donovan was here. I'm not big on them with Michael. That's my responsibility to make sure they know my opinion on that.
On DeSean's end zone antics: Those aren't things I want to happen, but it happened.
