Westbrook Intrigue
Eagles coach Andy Reid said Brian Westbrook "should be able to go" on Sunday against the Giants, though Westbrook watched practice for the second day in a row.
Brian Westbrook did not practice Friday and was listed as "questionable" for Sunday's game at the New York Giants.
Eagles coach Andy Reid said he held Westbrook out because he didn't want his franchise back practicing on artificial turf -- the Birds worked out indoors Friday. Reid said Westbrook "should be able to go" against the Giants.
Reporters were wondering what was up, though, given that Westbrook also sat out Thursday's practice, on grass, one day after declaring that he felt the best he'd felt since suffering a high-ankle sprain Week 3.
"He's fine" Reid said, dismissing the issue.
Westbrook has seen the Giants before and probably doesn't need to practice at this point in the season. But missing back-to-back days of preparation sure makes you wonder if Westbrook still feels the way he felt Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, Reid said running back Correll Buckhalter is "doubtful" with a knee injury that kept him out of last week's Arizona game. Right guard Shawn Andrews, recovering from back surgery, is out.
Reid issued the quote of the week, though he probably didn't intend it that way, when asked about forecasts for a chilly, windy Sunday at the Meadowlands, with snow flurries. The thing about the wind, Reid concluded, is that "it blows for both sides."
