Shawn Andrews selected in UFL draft
Former Eagles offensive lineman Shawn Andrews was selected in the third round of the United Football League draft by the expansion Omaha Nighthawks, according to the league's Twitter feed.
This story was first reported on by ProFootballTalk.com.
It was unclear as of tonight whether Andrews, who was released by the Eagles in March, would elect to play for the independent professional football league.
A message left with Andrews' agent, Rich Moran, was not returned.
Andrews, who was last in Southern California trying to recover from back surgery, hasn't worked out for any NFL teams since his release. A two-time Pro Bowler, Andrews last played in Sept. 2008.
