Game postponed, rotation holds
Tonight's game between the Phillies and Braves at Citizens Bank Park has been postponed due to inclement weather. Cliff Lee, tonight's scheduled starter, will pitch on Wednesday night against Atlanta.
For the second time on the first homestand of the Phillies season, a game has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The Phillies-Braves game on tap for Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park has been postponed. No makeup date has been scheduled yet (but it obviously won't take place this week). A good guess: the Braves return for a three-game, weekend series June 27-29; a doubleheader on Saturday or Sunday would make sense.
Following Tuesday's rainout, the Phillies decided to keep their rotation in order: Cliff Lee, Tuesday's scheduled starter, will pitch on Wednesday night, with A.J. Burnett following (Thursday afternoon vs. Braves), followed by Jonathan Pettibone (at Colorado on Friday), Kyle Kendrick (Saturday) and Roberto Hernandez (Sunday).
The Phils could have taken advantage of the extra day off this week by skipping Burnett. The pitcher was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia on Monday.
But apparently Burnett is feeling fine after Monday's cortisone shot; he'll pitch in the homestand finale on Thursday afternoon.
