Here's how the altered rotation looks. . .

Roy Oswalt, currently helping with tornado clean-up at home in Mississippi, won't return to the Phillies until Thursday, meaning he will miss his scheduled start against the Nationals on Tuesday. General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said Oswalt would likely be able to start a game on Saturday or Sunday. The way things set up now, it will almost have to be Saturday, since everybody else will be on short rest at that point in time.

With that in mind, here's how the Phillies' rotation lines up until then:

Mon. -- OFF DAY

Tue., May 3 vs. Washington: LHP Cole Hamels vs. RHP Livan Hernandez

Wed., May 4 vs. Washington: RHP Vance Worley vs. RHP Jason Marquis

Thu., May 5 vs. Washington: RHP Roy Halladay vs. LHP John Lannan

Fri., May 6, vs. Atlanta: LHP Cliff Lee vs. RHP Derek Lowe

Sat. May 7 vs. Atlanta: RHP Roy Oswalt vs. RHP Jair Jurrjens

Sun. May 8 vs. Atlanta: LHP Cole Hamels vs. TBA

Because of off days last Thursday and this Monday, the Phillies won't have to make any personnel moves or start anybody on short rest to compensate for Oswalt. Hamels will be pitching Tuesday with an extra day of rest as it is, rather than the two extra days he would have received. Worley, Halladay and Lee will all be pitching on normal rest. What the Phillies do from there remains to be seen. Joe Blanton is eligible to return from the disabled list on Sunday.
