Sources: Phils not close to deal for Reyes

Despite some reports that the Phillies are on the verge of signing veteran lefty Dennys Reyes, one non-Phillies source with knowledge of the club's discussions with relievers says they aren't close to inking Reyes and don't sound to be close with any lefty relievers.

In fact, that source said the Phillies have yet to make a formal offer to Reyes.

The impression amongst other folks who have talked to the Phillies is that they don't appear to be zeroing in on any particular reliever at this point. Of course, that could change as Day Three of the winter meetings unfolds.
