Here's how the next week-plus looks for the Phillies:

Saturday, April 28

vs. Cubs, 7:05

RHP Joe Blanton vs. RHP Randy Wells

BREAKING IT DOWN: The Phillies have faced Wells twice, scoring three runs in 2 1/3 innings of a 4-3 loss in June of last year, and scoring no runs in seven innings of a 4-1 win in July of 2010.

Sunday, April 29

vs. Cubs, 1:35

RHP Kyle Kendrick vs. RHP Matt Garza

BREAKING IT DOWN: Garza has held the Phillies to three earned runs in 21 innings in three career starts, but has lost two of them, both last season.

Monday, April 30

vs. Cubs, 7:05

RHP Vance Worley vs. RHP Jeff Samardzija

BREAKING IT DOWN: Worley held the Cubs to one run on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in a 9-1 win last July. Samardzija has moved from the bullpen to the rotation. In his last start, he held the Cardinals scoreless in 6 2/3 innings while striking out nine.

Tuesday, May 1

at Braves, 7:10

LHP Cole Hamels at RHP Brandon Beachy

BREAKING IT DOWN: Beachy made his major league debut against the Phillies and has faced them in six of his 32 career starts. The Braves have lost all six of those starts, although Beachy did hold the Phillies to three runs in 11 2/3 innings in his last two starts of 2011.

Wednesday, May 2

at Braves, 7:10

RHP Roy Halladay at RHP Tommy Hanson

BREAKING IT DOWN: Nothing sums up the Braves' struggles against the Phillies like Hanson's recent history. In his last four starts against them, the young right-hander has allowed just two runs in 24 2/3 innings. But the Braves have lost two of those games.

Thursday, May 3

at Braves, 12:10

RHP Joe Blanton at RHP Randall Delgado

BREAKING IT DOWN: Delgado faced the Phillies last September and allowed two runs on five hits with one strikeout in five innings of a 4-2 Braves loss.

Friday, May 4

at Nationals, 7:05

RHP Kyle Kendrick at RHP Stephen Strasburg

BREAKING IT DOWN: Strasburg has faced the Phillies once, holding them to one run and two hits with six strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings of an 8-1 Nationals win on Aug. 21, 2010. That was right before he underwent Tommy John surgery. The Phillies should also get their first glimpse of much-hyped prospect Bryce Harper, who was recalled from Triple-A on Friday to take the place of injured star Ryan Zimmerman.

Saturday, May 5

at Nationals, 1:05

RHP Vance Worley vs. LHP Gio Gonzalez

BREAKING IT DOWN: Who knew that Gonzalez was going to be the most painful departure in the ill-fated Freddy Garcia trade from five years ago? He posted a 3.12 ERA in 202 innings last season for the A's, and is off to a hot start with the Nationals, with a 1.52 ERA and 10.3 K/9 in his first four starts.

Sunday, May 6

at Nationals, 8:05

LHP Cole Hamels at RHP Jordan Zimmermann

BREAKING IT DOWN: The Phillies have had some success against the young righty, scoring at least four runs all three times they faced him.
