Tim Tebow leads mid-air prayer on flight after passenger collapses
During a Delta flight from Atlanta to Phoenix on Sunday, a passenger reportedly lost consciousness due to an apparent heart attack. According to fellow passengers, the man was given CPR by the crew and shocks from an automated defibrillator.
That's when Tim Tebow stepped in.
"Then all of a sudden, I observed a guy walking down the aisle. That guy was Tim Tebow," explained Richard Gotti, who was a passenger on the flight and documented the incident on his Facebook page.
"He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder," Gotti wrote. "I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation."
"It was Tim Tebow, absolutely," a passenger named Sonal, who refused to give her last name, confirmed to NBC News.
A Delta spokesperson would only confirm that a medical emergency was declared on the flight.
Once the plane landed in Phoenix, the passenger immediately received medical attention and was rushed to the hospital.
According to passenger Pamela Rainey, the former Eagles quarterback helped get the family off the plane, took their luggage and even went with them to the hospital. Tebow waited with the family until the received word that the man, reportedly in his 60s, had passed away.
Tebow has not returned a request for comment.
