Shakeup at Farmers' Cabinet

Chef, GM, front-of-house manager, and event coordinator - all gone.

The team behind Farmers' Cabinet is always good for drama, that's for sure.

On Wednesday, chef Steve Forte left the ambitious cocktail/beer bar, which opened less than a year ago at 1113 Walnut St. This follows this week's departures of general manager Nick Kulik, event coordinator Teresa Kulik, and front-of-house manager Jeffrey Boyle.

Forte simply said he and owners Matt Scheller and Matt and Colleen Swartz differed over the food. In an email, Teresa Kulik wrote that the parting was amicable: "We decided to take time off to travel and spend with family. ... We are pleased we got to be a part of an amazing concept and work with some of the most talented staff in Philadelphia. ... We wish the owners and staff continued success."

Chris Allen, chef at Farmers' Cabinet's nearby sibling The Boilermaker, will replace Forte.

Forte got the job in January following the sudden departure of previous chef Jason Goodman.

The owners' previous eatery, Fork & Barrel in East Falls, shut down abruptly in April 2011 after only seven months.
