Just a quick update here:
Although Marquis had believed that the bar would open in mid-April, she is hoping to get rolling by Cinco de Mayo.
The windows are due next week, as are repairs to the metal awning out front. A sign is on the way, too.
Most important, Philadelphia Gas Works is expected to show up on Monday, April 21 to hook up the gas for cooking. Chef Michael Santoro has been testing dishes at his South Philadelphia restaurant, The Mildred.
Meanwhile, workers have installed the full kitchen in what had been a dungeon of a basement.
