One Direction member Harry Styles is learning the true meaning of the phrase "be careful what you wish for" after he was hit in the head by a Red Bull can during the group's Philly concert.
A little over a year ago, Styles' band mate Niall Horan begged fans to quit the dangerous practice of throwing things onstage. But Styles took no heed, urging concert attendees to throw everything they had on stage during a March show in Johannesburg.
It's a practice that has continued at the band's shows, especially as they close, and, on Saturday, it came with dangerous consequences when Styles was nailed with the can. The incident was caught on camera and spread vociferously on social media. Fans even went so far as to track down the alleged culprit on Twitter, @hannacooke17.
Though Cooke's tweets are now private, she reportedly tweeted about the incident, saying, "I accidentally hit him in the face and he doesn't even notice me [crying emoji] what a waste." Cooke also detailed the types of threats she was getting for her actions, like "kill yourself," and "you deserve to die."
Styles' mom, Anne Twist, confirmed the beloved pop star wasn't seriously injured, but a Twitter user captured him nursing his injuries as the show continued.
When Twist caught wind of the ordeal, she took to Twitter to express her concern after he son's mishap.
Despite her unhappiness, Twist defended the alleged can-thrower as well.
