Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, Philadelphia, has contracted with a company to provide dialysis to patients who need dialysis in addition to rehab.
Magee opened its new dialysis center Feb. 2, with the help of $184,000 raised at ita annual Humanitarian Award dinner.
The dialysis services are being provided by DaVita, an El Segundo, Calif.-based company that provides dialysis services to hospitals, will staff, manage, and deliver dialysis treatment to Magee patients six days a week, depending on each patient's specific therapy schedule.
The services are expected to begin in the next month.
