Review: Chains are supposed to be all about consistency, but you can never take out the human element. While ordering, we asked for the "New" Grilled Shrimp Tacos as opposed to the Crispy (a/k/a deep-fried) Shrimp Tacos, in part because the tacos had avocado slices. So it was a little disappointing when they arrived without avocado. Our waitress informed us that they were out of avocado (a fact that might have been more useful to know before we ordered).
A Southwestern grill out of avocado at 1 p.m.? We hate to think where the guacamole was coming from the rest of the day. The waitress pleasantly offered us the opportunity to get something else, but the Gang was there for the new dish. We ate the tacos and imagined the avocado.
The slaw gave a nice crunch to the tacos (and we couldn't taste the cilantro, which we don't like anyway). The liquidy, orange chili sauce gave the dish a kick and the shrimp, although a tad rubbery, tasted like shrimp. The sides of beans with salsa were good, better than the dry rice.
