A trigger-happy robber inadvertently led police to a treasure trove of guns, drugs and ammo soon after he struck in North Philadelphia last week.
Police said Marcail Jackson robbed a 26-year-old man of a handful of cash on Stewart Street near 25th shortly after 8 p.m. Friday, and then shot his victim once in the right side.
Jackson, 23, retreated to an acquaintance's house on Jefferson Street near 26th, where he was spotted by Highway Patrol Officers Bruce Cleaver and Joseph Moore.
Cleaver and Moore took Jackson into custody when they noticed he fit the initial description of a gunman in a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark knit cap and black jacket, said Highway Patrol Capt. Michael Cochrane.
Jackson was positively identified by his victim, who was listed in critical but stable condition at Hahnemann University Hospital. He's charged with attempted murder, robbery and related offenses.
Cochrane said that Highway Patrol cops and investigators from Central Detectives later searched the Jefferson Street property where Jackson was spotted and found quite the criminal's cache.
Seven loaded handguns were scattered throughout the house, as well as an AK-47 assault rifle, a shotgun, two Kevlar vests, $3,000 in cash and $25,000 worth of cocaine.
Cochrane said that the "lawful occupants" of the property, Rahiem Outlaw, 24, and Shakera Traynam, 23, were arrested and charged with weapons violations and possessing drugs with the intent to deliver. *
