A proposed senior apartment complex in Voorhees will go before the zoning board in December
The project is about 500 feet away and across Voorhees Drive from the AMC Voorhees theater parking lot.

A three-story, 117-unit senior apartment complex is planned on vacant land in front of the SpringHill Suites Hotel in Voorhees, according to plans before the zoning board.
Developer FP Voorhees LLC/Fernmoor Living of Jackson, N.J., granted a zoning board use variance in 2024, is scheduled to appear before the zoning board in December for preliminary and final major site plan approval.
The project is about 500 feet away and across Voorhees Drive from the AMC Voorhees theater parking lot, where another developer in June received planning board approval to build a 100% affordable, 60-unit apartment complex.
Voorhees has had a flurry of residential development proposals in recent months. The planning board this month approved a project to repurpose the former and now-vacant Four Echelon Plaza office building near the former Echelon Mall into 178 market-rate apartments.
FP Voorhees estimates its independent living complex on Voorhees Drive will generate 188 in and out trips on weekdays, according to a traffic report.
A commitment for affordable housing units is not listed in the application, but zoning board engineer Bennett A. Matlack of Artheon estimated in his review that 24 of the units would need to be affordable.
Jeffrey Fernbach of Jackson is listed as the only owner of a 10% or larger interest in FP Voorhees LLC. The property is owned by Voorhees Hotel Associates of Horsham, Pa.
