Police: Two men die in separate shootings

A 31-year-old man was shot to death early Friday in South Philadelphia, police said. At about 1:10 a.m., officers found the victim, whose name was not released, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head and another in the left side of his abdomen outside on the 2100 block of Sigel Street.

At about 1:10 a.m., officers found the victim, whose name was not released, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head and another in the left side of his abdomen outside on the 2100 block of Sigel Street.

The man was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead half an hour later.

Police have also said that a man shot at about 6:20 a.m. Tuesday in West Philadelphia has succumbed to his wounds and died. The victim, Tarik Chapman, 38, was found lying unresponsive with several gunshot wounds while outside in the area of the 5100 block of Irving Street.

He was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian in critical condition. At 6:56 p.m. Wednesday, Chapman, of the 5500 block of Pemberton Street in West Philadelphia, was pronounced dead.

Police reported no arrests in either case.
