LIHEAP applications for PGW customers

Beginning Monday, Philadelphia Gas Works customers who need help with their gas bills will have access to Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) grants.

To apply, visit www.pgworks.com/LIHEAP or any PGW customer-service center.

"With increased grant amounts and higher income eligibility requirements this year, we are urging customers to apply," said Randy Gyory, PGW's senior vice president of operations and customer affairs. "Funds are limited, so customers need to act now before funds run out."

Each year, about 150,000 families in Philadelphia are eligible for LIHEAP, yet nearly 50,000 do not apply. To be eligible, a family of four must earn less than $35,280.
