Senior linebacker Kha'Jey Frazier and the West Catholic defense bailed out the Burrs several times during Friday night's Catholic League game at Cardinal O'Hara.

On the other side, the Burrs offense, led by junior Zahir Booker, eventually got untracked to help West to a 21-12 Blue Division victory.

Booker finished with 155 yards and two scores on just nine carries.

A pretty pass and catch by Zaire Hart-Hawkins to Carl Smith got the Burrs on the board first with 6 minutes, 23 seconds left in the first quarter.

The Lions responded with a methodical 15-play drive that ate up 55 yards and ended with a Luke Sprague to Cole Sprague connection for seven yards with 6 minutes, 30 seconds left in the first half. Frazier blocked the extra point kick.

The Lions then recovered the ensuing kickoff after West Catholic mistakenly didn't field the short blooper, allowing a Lion to recover. The Burrs' defense, however, forced a turnover on downs.

A Cole Sprague interception nearly gave the Lions control again late in the half.

Senior defensive end Damen Studstill and the Burrs defense, however, turned the Lions away on downs again. O'Hara's drive began at the Burrs' 20 with about three minutes left. The Lions managed just eight yards on eight plays (including penalties) and turned the ball over on downs again with 44.8 left. They trailed, 7-6, at intermission.

Booker broke free for a 41-yard score with 7:54 left in the third quarter.

O'Hara was led by Keed Kpoto's 77 yards and a 17-yard score that got the Lions  to within 13-12 with 6:07 left.

Frazier, Studstill and the Burrs stymied the Lions rushing attempt at the go-ahead two-point conversion.  Booker eventually added a late 7-yard score.
