Enoch Rembert, 28, attacked Lisa Mellett late Wednesday night. She died early Thursday morning.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with fatally beating a 51-year-old Camden woman with a baseball bat, authorities said Friday.
Enoch Rembert, of Camden, was charged with first-degree murder and a related offense for allegedly killing Lisa Mellett, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said in a joint news release.
Around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the area of Fifth and Bailey Streets for an unconscious woman on the roadway.
The woman — later identified as Mellett — was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 12:24 a.m. Thursday.
The Gloucester-Camden-Salem County Medical Examiner ruled that the cause of death was blunt abdominal trauma.
Surveillance video allegedly shows Rembert walking in the area of Fifth and Erie Street and repeatedly striking Mellett with a baseball bat.
The woman then can be seen walking to the area of Fifth and Bailey Streets and then collapsing.
Detectives learned that Rembert and Mellett were previously acquanted from the neighborhood, MacAulay and Rodriguez said.
Rembert was taken into custody and was being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility.
