Bucks County man taken into federal custody for ‘sextorting’ teenage girls
Derek Guzman spent the better part of three years forcing a teenage girl to send him nude photos and videos, under threat of sending them to her family, investigators said.

From his home in Sellersville, Derek Guzman wielded social media as a weapon, Bucks County investigators said, blackmailing at least two teenage girls to send him nude photos and videos for the better part of three years.
And on Wednesday, as Guzman walked into a district court for a preliminary hearing on those charges, he was taken into federal custody.
Guzman, 25, will now face a federal judge on sexual abuse of children, sexual extortion, unlawful contact with a minor and related crimes.
His attorney, Evan Hughes, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Bucks County investigators arrested Guzman in August after being contacted by the FBI about his alleged online crimes.

Under the pseudonym “Kyle Portle,” Guzman contacted a then-15-year-old girl in Colorado Springs, Colo. in 2019, according to the affidavit of probable cause for his arrest. The girl, thinking she and Guzman had friends in common, added him on Snapchat, and, at some point, send him nude photos.
Not long after, Guzman threatened to send the images to the girl’s friends and family if she didn’t follow his explicit instructions.
For the next three years, Guzman forced the girl to create “hundreds of videos and photographs” in various states of undress, including some in which she was nude and masturbating, the affidavit said.
More recently, Guzman created a TikTok account and demanded that the girl film videos of herself dancing to popular songs. Guzman would dictate what clothing the girl would wear, what songs to choose and how to dance and pose.
Guzman also told the girl to film two versions of some videos: One in which she was clothed and a version “for him” in which she was nude.
In one text conversation, recovered by investigators, Guzman chided the girl for looking “miserable” in some of her videos, and told her she needed to smile more.
When the girl turned 18, she pushed back against Guzman, telling him he had made her life a “living hell,” the affidavit said.

In response, he renewed his threats to send explicit photos of her to her family.
“You brought this on yourself,” he wrote. “If you don’t like the new goal then just block me I guess and see what happens.”
Bucks County detectives were able to trace the messages to an IP address registered to a home in Sellersville where Guzman lives with his mother.
Through their investigation, they learned that Guzman had similarly extorted a second girl who was 15 at the time, the affidavit said.
Guzman contacted the second girl in 2022 on Snapchat, reminding her that she had sent him nude photos before.
“I still have your nudes,” he wrote, “if you block me or ignore me or unadd me, I’ll send this [expletive] out everywhere.”
