There's a horror comedy starring Pete Davidson and Amandla Stenberg; Jamie Foxx as a California pool cleaner in need of money and 13: The Musical.
‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’
Horror comedy with a hip cast including Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, Rachel Sennott, and Pete Davidson, about a group of rich, young people who go away to a secret mansion, play a game, and start dying. Directed by Dutch actress Halina Reijn. (Rated R. Premieres Friday, Aug. 12, in theaters.)
‘13: The Musical’
A Jewish New York City boy is forced to move to small-town Indiana. In order to gain popularity in his new school, he decides to turn his bar mitzvah into the social event of the year. Call it “Middle School Musical.” Based on the Broadway show by Jason Robert Brown and Dan Elish. Starring Eli Golden, Josh Peck (as the rabbi), Rhea Perlman, and Debra Messing. Directed by Tamra Davis (Billy Madison, Half Baked, lots of television). (Rated PG. Premieres Friday, Aug. 12, on Netflix.)
‘Day Shift’
Jamie Foxx is a California pool cleaner who needs to make some money, so his wife doesn’t take his daughter to Florida. He makes that money as a vampire killer. With Snoop Dogg, Meagan Good, and Dave Franco. This action/comedy is the directorial debut of longtime stunt man J.J. Perry. (Rated R. Premieres Friday, Aug. 12, on Netflix.)
