Football: La Salle's Tom Spiteri bound for Colgate

La Salle High two-way lineman Tom Spiteri has committed to play football at Colgate as a preferred walk-on.

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound senior was also being recruited by Monmouth, Brown, Villanova, and William and Mary.

In helping the Explorers to a 12-2 record and the PIAA Class AAAA state semifinals, Spiteri earned Inquirer first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania honors on defense.
