"It doesn't seem fair," the "F--- You!" singer told TMZ. "But you can't defend yourself in that capacity, you know what I'm sayin'? You just have to let facts be facts, and so on and so forth ... None of this seems fair. It's just unfortunate because he's so beloved to so many people,"
A woman accused Green of slipping ecstasy into her drink while they were out together at an L.A. bar in 2012. She said that next thing she knew, she woke up naked in bed with him. Green pleaded no contest last year to a felony drug charge and was sentenced to probation.
Prosecutors rejected a rape charge against him, citing lack of evidence, and Green has maintained his innocence. But in August he followed up with some truly tasteless statements about rape on his Twitter account (which he later deleted):
"Women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"
"If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent."
Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, later apologized and said his remarks were "taken so far out of context" and that he'd "never condone the harm of any women."
