Pat Gallen is leaving his sports radio broadcast chair for a spot on local television.

Beginning next week the 97.5 The Fanatic personality, who is also a video host for, heads to CBS3 to become a sports anchor. The Phillies Nation editor-and-chief has been a fixture on the station since March 2012.

CBS3 recently cut some of its biggest on-air personalities, including sports director Beasley Reece.

Gallen hosts two video shows on He co-hosts the weekly "Word on the Birds" with Dave Spadaro of, and hosts the occasional "Pat vs. Philly" series.

"I auditioned with them a couple of weeks ago," Gallen told me over the phone. "I haven't gotten anything concrete," he said referring to his daily broadcast scheduled, "but I find out next week. I'm excited!"

This news comes shortly after Sean Brace and Nick Kayal's exit from the station. Anthony Gargano recently joined The Fanatic for a new morning show.
