The Late Show with Stephen Colbert took on Rep. Bob Brady's theft of Pope Francis water glass after the Pontiff's congressional address. Colbert notes that Brady will get the glass dusted for prints to test for authenticity. "Because, you know, I'm sure the cops in Philly have the pope's prints on file," Colbert said.
Colbert himself is a devout Catholic.
The Late Show host noted that Brady broke a couple commandments "literally behind the Pope's back," but did not address that Brady eventually confessed his sin.
Colbert also took on the plush Pope Francis dolls courtesy of Plymouth Meeting-based Bleacher Creatures, "Personally, I think this is kind of sacrilegious but the dog loves it," Colbert said. Hey, at least Pope Francis got a kick out of it.
