LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Today's secret word is: comeback!

A new Pee-wee Herman movie is moving to Netflix for distribution, with Paul Reubens set to star and Judd Apatow slated to produce. The film was previously set up at Universal.

Pee-wee's new adventure will begin shooting in 2015, with no director announced yet. Plot specifics have not been revealed for the script written by Reubens and Paul Rust.

Netflix currently offers "Pee-wee's Big Adventure," "Big Top Pee-wee" and "The Pee-wee Herman Show," and "Pee-wee's Playhouse: Vol. 1" and "Pee-wee's Playhouse: Vol. 2" were added earlier this month.

Rumors of Reubens' return to the bigscreen in his Herman persona have been circulating for years, fueled by his revival of the character for live shows in 2010 and his 2011 run on Broadway. He also appeared as the character in a 2011 "Saturday Night Live" sketch.

Reubens is repped by WME. Apatow is repped by UTA.

The Wrap first reported the news.
