I completely changed my mind about dance music this year when U.K. duo Disclosure released their flawless album, Settle – their debut full-length filled with emotional lone songs with a pop dance spin.

One song on the album that has always been my go to is "Latch" – an upbeat love ballad featuring the vocal stylings of British singer-songwriter Sam Smith.

Smith is a lesser-known name in the musical community (especially in America), but he is not one to overlook. He received much attention after "Latch" peaked at number 11 on the British charts. His powerful, soulful voice makes the track a standout work of art. The 21-year-old also released a debut solo track in early 2012 called "Lay Me Down." Smith's debut album, In the Lonely Hour, is due out on May 26, 2014.

Sam Smith will be making his Philadelphia debut at Boot & Saddle on Friday, Mar. 21, 2014. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, Dec. 18 at noon. These will go fast so hop on them as soon as possible!

Listen to Smith's acoustic version of "Latch" here, and the original, by Disclosure, right beneath it.
