Two of Jersey's greatest musical exports were neck-in-neck in Asbury Park Press' poll of the state's favorite rockers on Friday, March 13 — the final day of voting. By poll's close, Jon Bon Jovi took the title of New Jersey's favorite rock act over Bruce Springsteen.

What started out as an early lead by Springsteen when voting began on Friday, March 6, turned into an upset when Bon Jovi got a last-minute social media push (from his brother who tweeted, urging voters to get to it) to eventually beat The Boss.

Out of the over 20,000 votes cast — one vote per person — Bon Jovi earned 11,140 (50.66 percent) while Springsteen walked away with 10,851 votes (49.32 percent), according to the Asbury Park Press.
