One young Philadelphia drummer rocked the world of metal music over the weekend, courtesy of a killer Metallica cover that landed him on the band's Instagram page on Saturday.

Holmesburg's Daniel Krilov, 10, wound up in the spotlight after taking on a challenge from Metallica that asked fans to submit videos of covers of their favorite track from the band's first album in eight years, Hardwired…to Self-Destruct.

The School of Rock Philadelphia student, who has been playing drums for two years, according to 6ABC, went with "Atlas, Rise!" for his cover. A thrash-laden track topping more than six minutes long, Krilov's pick was far from the easy way out.

However, as a video posted initially to Krilov's Instagram account shows, the young drummer was more than prepared for the cover:

Metallica seemed to agree, with the band later sharing the video on its own Instagram page along with a note to Krilov reading "nice work dude!" The video on Metallica's page now has more than 300,000 views:

"Thank you Metallica for sharing my video," Krilov wrote on Instagram. "I got a lot of new followers and metal friends today. I hope you come to Philly next year so I can see you live."

The band will kick off 2017 with a tour of Asia, Europe, and South America that starts Jan 11 in Seoul, South Korea. No North American dates have been announced for 2017.
