Review: Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne
Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne came out on Monday on iTunes. It doesn't come out on CD until Friday, and even then, it will only be available at Best Buy, much to the chagrin of independent record store owners. That might be why the album never leaked before its release yesterday. Yeezy and Hova cut down on the number of merchants handling the music, thereby lowering the likelihood of leakage, and no doubt cutting themselves a sweet deal with Apple and Best Buy while they were at it.
Tickets also went on sale yesterday for the duo, who are calling themselves 'The Throne,' rather than 'Jay-Z and Kanye West,' for some (probably contractual) reason, when they play the Wells Fargo Center on Nov. 2. Some remain. Over the weekend, the never boring West was in England where he went on a patented rant saying "I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm f------ insane, like I'm Hitler. One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did." My *** 1/2 Watch The Throne review from Tuesday's Inquirer is here. "Murder To Excellence," WTT's most intriguing track, is below.
