A 20-year-old man died Thursday morning after falling backward from a wall overlooking the Wissahickon Creek in Philadelphia, police said.

The man, whose identity was not released, was sitting on a wall on the 4300 block of Henry Avenue at about 10:40 a.m. when he fell backward into the water, police said. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 11:15 a.m.
No further information was immediately available and it is not clear if the man was sitting on a wall of a pedestrian bridge over the creek or on the elevated Henry Avenue Bridge.
