Buckminster's in Point Breeze signs Marzinsky as chef

A neo-bistro will fill the former Burg's Lounge at 21st and Federal Streets.

Michael and Jeniphur Pasquarello, who own Cafe Lift, Prohibition Taproom, and Bufad in the Loft District as well as Kensington Quarters in Fishtown, are expanding their 13th Street Kitchens empire southwest.

Their new spot, to open this fall, will be a bistro called Buckminster's, and it's taking the former Burg's Lounge at 21st and Federal Streets in Point Breeze.

The chef, just signed, will be Rob Marzinsky. The restaurant's reps say the "approachable, market-driven menu of small plates" will pair with cocktails, draft wines and beers, with a few bottled and canned selections.

Marzinsky, who left Fitler Dining Room last year, has been traveling through Asia. The menu concept here will be European "neo bistro" - e.g. casual atmosphere, modest prices, small plates with international influences.

Here's an explainer on the subject.
