West Chester's Avalon is all moved in

Avalon is up and running at 116 E. Gay St. in the borough, effective Thursday, April 24.

Avalon, which started 12 years ago as an Italian BYOB on High Street in West Chester, has completed its takeover of the nearby Nonna's.

Avalon is up and running at 116 E. Gay St. in the borough, effective Thursday, April 24.

Chef/owner John Brandt-Lee now has a full bar (eight local crafts on tap, plus wines and cocktails) and double the space.

In addition to the Avalon menu, Brandt-Lee is serving crostini boards with individual jars of chicken liver mousse, sheep's milk ricotta with eggplant caponata and Parmesan gelato with blood orange jam as well as flatbreads.

He will continue to offer his popular four-course chef's tasting menu, and now will offer wine pairings.

Patrons may BYOB on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday for a $5 corkage.

Brandt-Lee plans to create an open kitchenette, adding a wood-burning pizza oven as well as a mozzarella, antipasti, olive, cheese bar ringed with seating.
