Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Mummers Parade at MummersFest

If your Mummers excitement cannot be contained by just one day — or you fear your New Year’s Eve festivities might keep you from heading out for the parade — a special preview sneak peek of the costumes, dancing and spectacle comes to the Pennsylvania Convention Center (1101 Arch St.) for four days leading up to the big parade.

MummersFest, running Sunday, Dec. 28 through Wednesday, Dec. 31, offers family-friendly activities and displays all in honor of the Mummers.

Of the available entertainment, a 50-minute tour of in-progress floats, struts and props, including insightful stories and quick Mummers Strut lessons, is available.

In addition, an exhibit of costume renderings and Mummers apparel will be on display, with helpful costuming tidbits from designers, costume dress-up and art activities set for each day of the festival.

A special everything-but-the-costume rehearsal is set to hit the convention center at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Hours for MummersFest are noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, and noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
