Crystal Harris
in these, her first hours of freedom. (So terrifying to be free!)
The 25-year-old fledgling model-actress has dumped her knight in shining armor Hugh Hefner at the altar. (Well, not literally: The wedding was set for Saturday.)
"The wedding is off," the octogenarian hubby-to-be tweeted Tuesday. "Crystal has had a change of heart."
TMZ says the twice-divorced Hef and his fiancee, who became engaged on Christmas Eve, had "a nasty argument" over the weekend.
What happened? Did Crystal wake up and realize she might not be a fairy-tale princess and the Playboy Mansion might not be a gleaming white and silver-sheened castle straight out of Arthurian legend?
Timberlake, the ganja man
He's the moral compass for a whole generation of citizens. So what are we to make of
Justin Timberlake
's admission that he has a close personal relationship with marijuana?
The former Mouseketeer and Britney Spears soul mate said yes, he's "absolutely" into ganja.
"The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking," he says.
"Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off." When is it OK to turn off your brain?
Baena: Much love for Maria
Mildred Baena
, who for 20 years served as
Arnold Schwarzenegger
's housekeeper - and sometime lover - has broken her media silence. Baena tells Hello! mag that when she informed her 13-year-old son,
Joseph
, that the Governator was his dad, he said, "Cool!"
Baena said Arnold never talked to her about whether the boy was his. "I knew Arnold was the father," she says, "But [Arnold] never said anything to me."
Baena says she received nothing but support from Arnold's wife, Maria Shriver, after she told her employer about the affair.
"I have so much love and respect for Maria," Baena says. "She was so strong. She cried with me."
The Boss: Clemens on the mend
Bruce Springsteen
on Tuesday confirmed that his friend and
E Street Band
saxophonist
Clarence Clemons
had a massive stroke Sunday night.
"By now, many of you have heard that our beloved comrade and sax player Clarence Clemons has suffered a serious stroke," the Boss said. "While all initial signs are encouraging, Clarence will need much care and support to achieve his potential once again. . . . this is a time for us all to share in a hopeful spirit that can . . . inspire Clarence."
J.Lo on 'HawthoRNe'? No way!
Jada Pinkett Smith
's medical show on TNT,
HawthoRNe
, already stars
Marc Anthony
, so why not invite his wife,
Jennifer Lopez
, to do a guest spot?
"I don't think so," Marc tells USA Today. "That would be too close to home. It's hard enough to be a Nick Renata and make people tap into that suspension of disbelief," he says, referring to his character.
A patriotic cliffhanger
Though the
Peter Nero and the Philly Pops
Independence Day Concert tradition appeared to be dying on the eve of its 10th anniversary, last-minute funding was engineered over the weekend by Rep.
Robert Brady
and
Mayor Nutter
. So the show will go on at 8:30 p.m. July 3 at Independence Mall.
Brady is a longtime Pops supporter, said music director Nero, and then some. "In recent years, he has become the go-to guy in Philadelphia when our traditions become threatened in tough financial times," Nero said.
"As long as I represent Pennsylvania's First Congressional District . . . there will be a Philly Pops concert on Independence Mall," Brady said.
Expect to be joined by 15,000 of your nearest and dearest.
More immediately, Nero and his brass section will invade Reading Terminal Market Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. for a 45-minute concert. You can't call it a flash mob when a grand piano must first be installed.
A mea culpa . . .
"SideShow" on Tuesday identified Dartmouth incorrectly. The Ivy League school is named Dartmouth College, not
