The Bellamy-Hudson breakup
Matt Bellamy, 36, has decided to speak up about his breakup with Kate Hudson, 35, the lovely A-list actress who is the mother of his 3-year-old son, Bingham Hawn Bellamy. No wonder: Rumors are circulating that Kate has a new beau, Dancing With the Stars' Derek Hough.
"Love all of you guys!" tweets the Muse front man. So cheerful! I mean, Matt was slated to wed Kate. Why is he all smiley-faced?
"We're both very happy, it's for the best. Thanks for your kind words," he goes on. Muse's new album was due this fall, but has yet to appear. It'll have songs about "deep ecology, the empathy gap and world war 3," Matt has said.
And now for something completely different
A&E has green-lighted 8 Minutes, a reality series about Orange County, Calif., cop-turned-pastor Kevin Brown, who tries to persuade prostitutes to quit the life, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Brown, a former vice detective, will have only eight minutes per girl to make his pitch.
Brown's been on such a mission for years, says exec producer Tom Forman. The only difference is that now he'll do it on camera.
"Brown told his congregation that for 20 years he's had to arrest these women when what he's really wanted to do is help them," Forman says.
Gossip petits fours
Comedy Central funnywoman Amy Schumer, 33, will host the 2015 MTV Movie Awards on April 12, says the cabler, which calls Amy "the most ascendant talent in comedy today." . . . Snooki, the entrepreneur. . . . No, really . . .
Reality-show afterthought Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, 27, has turned her Jersey Shore-crafted notoriety into a successful business. Snooki's new etsy.com-hosted online shop, Nicole's Craft Room, which features kitchen gear and home decor made by Snooki's very own crafty hands, sold out mere days after it opened Dec. 3.
