New York Comic Con is coming to Philly.

As Wizard's annual spring comic convention has grown over the years and smaller cons have begun filling in the geeky event calendar, the folks at ReedPOP will hold their first Keystone Comic Con next year.

The event will take place Sept. 14 to 16 at the Convention Center, at 11th and Arch Streets.  In addition to New York, ReedPOP also runs cons in Chicago, Seattle, Shanghai, and Sydney.

ReedPOP event director Mike Armstrong told newsarama.com: "In conversations with publishers, retailers and, artists, Philly kept coming up as a city that they see a ton of opportunity in. … We have also developed a relationship with the Convention Center and the city at large through our launch of PAX Unplugged, which is coming up this November. It's been a perfect storm of opportunity, interest, and availability."

Three year-round jobs will be created to help organize the con locally: "Having a dedicated ReedPOP team working on this event year-round, we are going to work hard to develop partnerships and collaborations with local businesses, fan groups, retailers, breweries … you name it," Armstrong said.
