Mayor Nutter yesterday announced his two appointees to the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority board of directors.

City Councilwoman Marion Tasco and Heather Steinmiller, an assistant vice president at Commerce Bank, will join the 15-member board. They replace Mayor Street's appointees, building-trades leader Pat Gillespie and longtime Street ally George Burrell.

Nutter served as chairman of the board for more than four years.

The mayor gets two appointees to the board, one of whom must come from lists of nominees provided by five tourism organizations. Tasco was on one of the recommended lists, according to a press release.

Tasco has represented her northwest Philadelphia district since 1988 and is majority leader on Council.

Steinmiller, who holds a law degree from Villanova University, serves as the in-house labor and employment counsel for Commerce Bank. *
