The Daily News asked our romance columnists, Steve & Mia, to weigh in on the big military sex scandal:

Steve: What is it about a man in uniform that makes him irresistible?

Mia: Do you even have to ask?

Steve: When I change the oil in my car, I sometimes wear my navy-blue mechanic's jumpsuit. Not once did a woman flirt with me.

Mia: How many of them flirt with you when you dress normally?

Steve: None.

Mia: Perhaps that should tell you something.

Steve: They say power is an aphrodisiac, so I guess when you combine that with the uniform, even the ugliest general is attractive to a woman 20 years younger.

Mia: You got that right. You're not hating are you, Steve?

Steve: No, but how does being powerful equal romance?

Mia: I read somewhere that Gen. Petraeus runs a six-minute mile. If he's that fit on a running trail, he's probably a beast in bed.

Steve: Somehow I don't think Henry Kissinger was a beast in bed, yet when he was secretary of state, he was always out with starlets.

Mia: He must have been good at something in bed. Don't get it twisted, Steve. Smart is sexy. It's not all about how a guy looks.

Steve: Good point. Look at Mick Jagger.

Mia: Do you think Petraeus' wife has lawyered up yet?

Steve: One thing's for sure, the general's been busted down to private at home.

Mia: And he's lost his job. Hope the sex was worth it.

Steve: That's the problem with illicit sex. The thrill doesn't last long. Losing your job and your marriage lasts forever.

Mia: Truly a dumb move.

Steve: Finally, these two women connected to the two generals are both married to doctors! Doctors wear uniforms and have the power of life and death. How does a general trump a doctor in the uniform and power department?

Mia: Face it, Steve. Women are a lot like men. Chris Rock was onto something when he said, "A man is basically as faithful as his options." The same holds true for a lot of women as well.
