A Spanish 'Nutcracker'

NEW JERSEY See Alborada, New Jersey's Spanish Dance Theatre, perform "El Sueno" on Dec. 15 at The Kelsey Theatre in West Windsor. Alborada combines Gypsy, flamenco, and dances from a variety of Latin cultures with live music.


NEW YORK The New York Botanical Garden's Holiday Train Show features model trains traveling through more than 100 scaled replicas of NYC landmarks, made from natural materials. Through Jan. 12

PENNSYLVANIA The Amish Holiday Tradition Tour at the Amish Village in Ronks, Lancaster County, features an 1840 Amish farmhouse decorated for the holidays. Sample seasonal Amish foods and shop for holiday items.

Polar Express

RHODE ISLAND Take the Blackstone Valley Polar Express through Dec. 22 in Woonsocket. On the 90-minute train ride, children will be read "The Polar Express," get a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and enjoy a holiday sing-along.
