CONNECTICUT Eight award-winning children's book artists from the New Haven area, in collaboration with the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, have curated an exhibition of their work, with an eye toward revealing the process of creating picture books. Show ends Jan. 3.

DELAWARE The Delaware Children's Museum in Wilmington hosts the first-ever, licensed traveling exhibition based on the beloved Wizard of Oz movie classic. Ends Jan. 26.

A week of fun

MASSACHUSETTS The Borromeo String Quartet, one of the most sought-after string quartets in the world, plays Jan. 11 in Rockport.

NEW JERSEY Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, arguably the most famous piece of classical music ever written, will be performed Jan. 10 by London's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in an all-Beethoven program at NJPAC in Newark. Pinchas Zukerman conducts.
