Today the judges in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas will vote to elect a new president judge.

Today the judges in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas will vote to elect a new president judge.

Outgoing President Judge Edward J. Zetusky, Jr. retired to senior judge status at the first of this year.

Zetusky, 70, served one year as president judge. The mandatory retirement age for judges is 70. Judges can continue to serve as senior judges until age 75.

The president judge supervises the court's judicial business and is responsible for assigning judges to the different court divisions.

The county's 19 judges, including Mary Alice Brennan and Gregory M. Mallon who were elected in November and sworn in last week, will vote in the election. The county's five senior judges do not vote.

The announcement and induction of the new president judge will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at a press conference in the Media courthouse.
