FBI: Bearded bank robber shaves, strikes again

A clean-shaven bank robber who held up a Center City credit union this morning may be the same bandit who struck a bank branch on South Broad Street last week with a full beard and a mustache, authorities said.

A clean-shaven bank robber who held up a Center City credit union this morning may be the same bandit who struck a bank branch on South Broad Street last week with a full beard and a mustache, authorities said.

A man entered the TruMark Financial Credit Union at 1811 JFK Boulevard about 11:15 this morning, handed a threatening demand note to a teller, and fled with about $1,600 in cash, police said. He was wearing a gray-hooded zip-up sweatshirt and black sweat pants with a white stripe.

Authorities believe the same man - white, in his late 20s, about 5-foot-4 - robbed the PNC Bank branch at 230 South Broad St. on April 21. During that robbery, he was wearing a blue Cleveland Indians ballcap, a blue windbreaker and baggy dark shorts.

His facial hair appeared to be genuine at the time.
